DEEP Robotics has introduced the X50, a heavy-duty quadruped aimed at power-industry inspection, emergency response and firefighting. Chinese reports published on November 6 and 7 describe a robot built to carry equipment across difficult terrain rather than serve primarily as a demonstration platform.
According to a Chinese report republished by 21st Century Business Herald, the company says the X50 can carry a rated 50-kilogram load while moving at three meters per second for more than two kilometers. It says the increased load capacity does not require an increase in body size, though the cited report does not provide dimensions or an unloaded weight.
The stated performance combines payload, speed and distance in one operating claim. It should not be read as a general battery-range figure for every terrain or accessory configuration. The source does not provide a public third-party test protocol, and the specifications remain company-reported.
The robot fuses lidar point clouds with data from an inertial measurement unit and other sensors. DEEP Robotics says reinforcement-learning-based motion control uses that information to anticipate terrain and choose footholds, with responsive joints translating the planned movements into physical steps.
The company says X50 can repeatedly cross 80-centimeter platforms, step between stone blocks separated by 70 centimeters and climb open-riser stairs. Those capabilities are intended to extend equipment transport and inspection beyond flat routes into industrial stairways, pipe-rack structures and uneven outdoor sites.
A separate Chinese report carried by Sina describes posture control that responds to pulling, impacts and irregular ground. In a firefighting configuration, the company says the robot can adjust its body to counter the reaction force from spraying water and help maintain the nozzle's direction.
Proposed payloads include hydraulic tools, electrical-inspection equipment, rescue instruments and medical supplies. These are intended applications rather than evidence of completed deployments for the new model. The cited reports do not disclose a price or delivery timetable. X50 extends the company's industrial quadruped line, which has previously been used for inspection work in manufacturing facilities.
