Moore Threads has updated its MTT AICUBE home AI hub with smart-home control, direct access to local files and a companion mobile client. The MTT AIOS 1.6.1 update expands the role of the device's Xiaomai AI Agent, according to Yesky and Sina Technology reports published on November 6. The reports describe a recent rollout, not a new hardware launch.
The assistant adds support for Matter and ZigBee protocols and third-party smart-home ecosystems. Moore Threads says users can issue natural-language voice instructions to control lights, curtains, air conditioners and other connected appliances, including routines that coordinate several devices rather than operating only one appliance at a time.
The examples in the Chinese release include adjusting lighting and room climate, scheduling a robot vacuum and operating pet-care devices. Those are supported-use scenarios described by the company; the reports do not provide a complete compatibility list or demonstrate that every appliance in a home will work without additional setup.
A second change links the agent to the file-management system in Olares, an application users can install through the device's application marketplace. The integration supports creating, copying, moving and deleting local files, as well as retrieving documents, images and video. The feature is intended to make the hub's network-attached storage accessible through conversation.
New semantic image search lets a user describe a memory, such as photos from a beach trip last month, to search an Olares picture folder. After users connect supported messaging applications such as WeChat or Feishu, the assistant can also send retrieved pictures into a conversation, according to the reports.
The update adds a desktop-pet mode, replacing the full-screen assistant with a smaller animated character that changes appearance while idle, listening or thinking. Video playback also gains browser-based access to additional streaming services, with voice control for playback, pausing and seeking.
The companion phone app is available through Apple's App Store and major Android marketplaces, the reports say. It supports remote file viewing, uploads and downloads, plus phone-photo backup and synchronization with AICUBE. The official English product page confirms Xiaomai AI Agent as the assistant's name; the mobile client's official English name was not specified in the cited announcements.
